On a slow morning
Jan 28, 2024
It’s enticing, a sage’s blessing,
There’s no reason to deny it;
A tribe of true warriors offering a free pass at initiation,
God herself beckons with a promise of restitution,
An elixir with no philosophical catch,
So why don’t I drink it?
When something is too good to be true
Even if it’s light at the end of a tunnel,
I’ll keep my distance, so it cannot blind me;
I am drooling, I am so hungry,
But there’s nothing I can do
For I’m a skeptic at heart
